My Jounal

This week is going well for me so far. After the holidays and having a cold I have gotten back in the swing of going to the gym (and am I sore!). And the weight watchers thing seems pretty easy if I sweets and I stay apart. (We have trouble living together in harmony). Of course it is only Wednesday!

Journaling what I eat helps me tremendously in staying on track. I started keeping track of other things that seem to keep my life more peaceful and focused. Here are things I note each day: weight (every day), exercise, water, quiet time, routine (as in my flylady routine), main mood and overall satisfaction. It is VERY interesting for me when I notice that if my food gets crazy or I stop working out that I get crabby or depressed. On the satisfaction category I usually just ask myself if I am satisfied with my efforts for the day. Did I do what I could to be healthy? Then I write a few sentences. It really only takes a few minutes each day.

Did anyone watch Biggest Loser last night? I think it is going to be a good season!

  1. I always like the idea of a journal and I've tried to keep one several times. Somehow I always get sidetracked and it sits abandoned for months upon months.
I do agree that food journals are helpful. I think a lot of times we aren't really conscious of what we actually consume in a day. Seeing it on paper is sometimes enlightening... and scary!!
I did watch Biggest Loser last night and I agree that this season is going to be good. I hated the choice at the end... even though I did have doubts about Jerry's overall ability to physically maintain that level of working out. He looked great though when they showed him now... and I doubt the young guy... forgot his name... would have been able to keep with the program at home.

  2. I agree that the whole journal thing really works. It holds us accountable and I notice more about my munch this and munch that. Of course the last 6 days I've been sick. And no Natalie, I'm afraid I've not lost enough to beat you all. lol.....This past week I lost a pound. Which is good, considering I did no type of exercise, other than on Monday and Tuesday of last week.
